Hermann Alexander Welke, son of Alexander Welke and Auguste Wilhelmine Welke, was born on 14 October 1862 at Hammermühle, Jaktorowo, Kolmar, Posen (Wielkopolskie), Preußen (German Empire).2 He married Emma Manske, daughter of Eduard Theodor Manske and Juliana Krüger, on 14 November 1889 at Exin, Schubin, Posen, German Empire.3
A son, Herbert Paul Theodor, was born to Hermann and Emma on 9 December 18894, a daughter, Herta Auguste Anna, on 8 February 18923, a son, Ernst Gustav, on 28 January 18953, a son, Elimar Robert, on 28 January 18953, and another son, Rudolf Richard Johannes, on 24 June 1896.3
After the birth of Rudolf, the family must have moved to Helmstorf, Schubin, Posen, where he worked as a farmer.3
They had their last son, Wend Otto, on 14 June 1901.3
Emma Welke died on 29 June 1920, at Helmstorf at age 54, leaving Hermann as a widower at the age of 57 years.3
In 1937, Hermann left the Gut Helmstorf at Schubin, Pozna ń, Poland to his son, Ernst Gustav Welke.3
Hermann died on 10 July 1942 at Piła (Schneidemühl), Chodzież, Pozna ń, Polen, at age 79 years, 8 months and 26 days.3
