Alexander Welke, son of Johann Welke and Anna Rosina Welke, was born on 27 October 1814 at Krummfließerhütte (Pokrzywno), Deutsch Krone, Preußen (Germany).1 He married Auguste Wilhelmine Ulrich, daughter of Karl Gottlieb Ulrich and Wilhelmine Schwanke, on 19 June 1851 in the protestant church at Lindenwerder, Samotschin, Kolmar, Posen, Preußen (German Empire).1 He was a mill estate owner of the Hammermühle at Jaktorowo, Kolmar, Posen (Wielkopolskie.)1
A son, Adolf, was born to Alexander and Auguste on 18 September 18572, a son, Rudolf, on 24 March 18592, a son, Richard Hugo Max, on 24 April 18612, a son, Hermann Alexander, on 14 October 18622, and another son, Eduard, on 14 August 1868.2
Auguste died on 18 May 1870, at Hammermühle at age 34, leaving Alexander as a widower at the age of 55 years.1
Second, Alexander married Ernestine Wellmann at Deutsch Krone.2
According to his civil registration death entry at Groß Wittenberg, Alexander died on 23 September 1886 at Klein Wittenberg (Jaraczewo), Deutsch Krone, Marienwerder, Westpreußen (German Empire), at age 71 years, 10 months and 27 days.1
