Peter Ludwig Zander, son of Johann Zander and Lotte Schroeder, was born on 22 July 1814 at Förstenau (Gwiezdzin), Schlochau, Marienwerder, Preußen (Deutschland).1 He married (--?--) Haas, daughter of Karolina Panknyn.1 She died leaving Peter as a widower with two young daughters.1
Second, Peter married his first wife's sister, Wilhelmine Pauline Haas, daughter of Karolina Panknyn, on 5 June 1860 at Pfarrei Stegers, Gotzkow, Schlochau.1 He worked as an innkeeper and farmer at Förstenau (Gwiezdzin.)1
Wilhelmine Pauline Zander died on 31 March 1873, at Förstenau (Gwiezdzin) at age 36, leaving Peter as a widower again at the age of 58 years.1
