     Johann Wilhelm Fels, son of Hans Nickel Fels and Maria Margaretha Hauch, was born on 16 February 1720 at Heimbach, (Birkenfeld), (Rheinland-Pfalz), Holy Roman Empire (Germany).1 He married Katharina Magdalena Hart, daughter of Simon Hart, on 11 February 1745 at Baumholder, (Birkenfeld), (Rheinland-Pfalz), Holy Roman Empire (Germany).2 A son, Johann Peter, was born to Wilhelm and Katharina on 2 January 1746.3

Katharina Magdalena Fels died on 26 March 1748, at Heimbach leaving Wilhelm as a widower at the age of 28 years.3

Second, Wilhelm married Maria Elisabeth Kayser on 15 April 1751 at Baumholder.2

Wilhelm died on 25 September 1766 at Fohren, (Birkenfeld), (Rheinland-Pfalz), Holy Roman Empire (Germany), at age 46 years, 7 months and 9 days.3
