     Johann Jakob Göttgen, son of Johann Ludwig Göttgen and Anna Katharina Faust, was born on 1 March 1735/36 at Langenbach, (Kusel), (Rheinland-Pfalz), Holy Roman Empire (Germany).1 He married Maria Elisabeth Uebelhäuser, daughter of Adam Uebelhäuser, on 3 May 1764 at Baumholder, (Birkenfeld), (Rheinland-Pfalz), Holy Roman Empire (Germany).1 He worked as a bricklayer.2
