Erna Helbig, daughter of Max Helbig and Joanna Marx, was born on 12 December 1906 at Bielefeld, Nordrhein-Westfalen, German Empire.2 She married Wilhelm Forster, son of Johann Georg Forster and Katharina Hilpert, on 24 March 1937 at Bielefeld. They met at the Bielefeld Athletic Society, where they were both active members.1,2,3 She worked as a seamstress.2
Wilhelm and Erna had a weekend house in Senne where they spent time with their children, parent and friends. Because of the constant bombing in Bielefeld during the war, they moved to the weekend house. Erna and her sister, Henny, later built a house in Senne and moved in in 1961 with Heike and Thilo.3
Erna died on 10 September 2000 at Waltrop, Recklinghausen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, at age 93 years, 8 months and 29 days.2
