Wilhelm Forster, son of Johann Georg Forster and Katharina Hilpert, was born on 10 December 1905 at Durlach, Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, German Empire.2
Circa 1919, the family moved to Bielefeld, Nordrhein-Westfalen, where her father worked for the Anker-Werke Sewing Machine Company.3,4
When their father was to be transferred to the Anker-Werke sewing machine factory in Czechoslovakia, their mother, Katharina, went on ahead with the children, only to return to Germany six months later when they were expelled due to the Beneš Regime.4,3
Wilhelm married Erna Helbig, daughter of Max Helbig and Joanna Marx, on 24 March 1937 at Bielefeld, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutsches Reich (Germany). They met at the Bielefeld Athletic Society, where they were both active members.1,2,4 He worked as an electrical engineer at the Anker-Werke sewing machine factory.2,4
Wilhelm and Erna had a weekend house in Senne where they spent time with their children, parent and friends. Because of the constant bombing in Bielefeld during the war, they moved to the weekend house. Erna and her sister, Henny, later built a house in Senne and moved in in 1961 with Heike and Thilo.4
Wilhelm died of asthma on 1 April 1952 at Aerzen, Hameln-Pyrmont, Niedersachsen, Germany, at age 46 years, 3 months and 22 days.2
