Hans Otto Neu was baptized on 5 June 1695 at Breitfurt, (Saarland). His godparents were Otto Brucel from Böckweiler, Hans Rohrbacher, farmer from Mölspach, Anna Catharina, wife of Nicolas Fischer from Breitfurt, and Maria, wife of Jacob Weber from Böckweiler.4,7 He was confirmed on 20 April 1710 at Walsheim, (Saar-Pfalz-Kreis), (Saarland), Holy Roman Empire (Germany).2
Otto was the godfather of Isaac Schunck at his baptism on 27 January 17138, of his nephew, Hans Otto Neu on 7 March 17148, of his nephew, Johann Otto Gentes on 14 February 17178, and of Maria Elisabeth Vogelgesang on 18 July 1717 at Walsheim.8
Otto drowned on 19 June 1728 under the Ixheimerbrücke at age 33 years and 14 days.3 He was found under the bridge on 27 June 17283, and was buried on 28 June 1728 at Breitfurt.3
