On the 1940 census recorded 5 April 1940 at Thornton, Dolton County, Illinois, Adeline Meta Lawall was listed as the wife of Melbourne Wiliam Lawall. Adeline was recorded as being 27 years old and born in Illinois. In 1935 she lived in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.2
Adeline died Her obituary, published in the Chicago Tribune on 19 February 1981, reads as follows:

Adeline M. Lawall, nee Zumm, beloved wife of the late William; loving sister of Norman (Rose) Zumm, Elmer (Sally) Zumm and Eleanor Zumm; loved by many nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday 2-8 p. m. with prayer service 4 p. m., at the Lutheran Home and Service for the Aged, 800 W. Oakton, Arlington Heights. Will lie in state Friday noon until time of funeral service, 1:30 p. m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 245 E. 138th St., Dolton. Interment Cedar Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lutheran Home or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
