George Joseph Kapolnek, son of George Kapolnek and Susanna Schaaf, was born on 7 January 1908 at Lazarevo (Lazarfeld), Zrenjanin, Vojvodina, Hungary (Serbia). His godparents were Dominik Sauer and Barbara Meckl.1,16,8,7 George Kapolnek immigrated with his parents and siblings from Hamburg to New York City on 16 February 1911.2 They arrived at New York City on 26 February 1911.3,7
George married Hattie Gladys Schroeder on 26 July 1930.10,11,7
George registered for the draft for World War I on 16 October 1940, while living at Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. George was recorded as being born on 7 January 1908 in Lazarfeld. He added his wife, Hattie Schroeder, as person who will always know his address. His employer was C. H. Bruns-Bruns Collins, Inc. at 1455 S. Michigan Avenue. He resided at 3624 N. Leavitt Street. He was 6 feet tall and weighed 155 pounds. George had blue eyes, blonde hair, a light complexion, and wore glasses.9
George died on 7 August 1968 at Chicago at age 60 years and 7 months. His obituary reads as follows:
