     Gottfried Wagner, son of Friedrich Wagner and Magdalena Louisa Koch, was born at Kirkel, (Saarland), Holy Roman Empire (Germany).1 He was baptized on 24 May 1778 at Limbach. His godparents were his uncle Wilhelm Wagner from Kirkel, Gottfried Koch from Limbach, and Charlotta the wife of the butcher from Homburg.1,2 On 5 April 1792, Gottfried Wagner, 13 years old, lost his mother, Magdalena Louisa Wagner.4 He married Margaretha Hamann, daughter of Johannes Hamann and Magdalena Weitmann, on 28 October 1802 at Limbach.
