     Katharina Magdalena Laub, daughter of Johann Peter Laub and Anna Eva Schuch, was born on 25 October 1766 at Aulenbach, (Birkenfeld), (Rheinland-Pfalz), Holy Roman Empire (Germany).1 She married Johann Jakob Schmidt, son of Georg Schmidt and Maria Margaretha Schuch, on 17 February 1795 at Ruschberg, (Birkenfeld), (Rheinland-Pfalz), Holy Roman Empire (Germany). He was the widower of Maria Louisa Schug.1 A son, Philipp Jakob, was born to Jakob and Katharina on 25 March 17961, who died on 24 June 1797 at age 1 year, 2 months and 30 days.1
