     Ludwig Korst, son of Christian Korst and Salomea Hamm, was born on 19 March 1852 at Limbach, Homburg, Rheinpfalz, Bayern.1,2 He was baptized on 28 March 1852 at Homburg. His godparents were Philipp Korst, farmer, from Limbach, Ludwig Hilpert, farmer, from Bliesbergerhof, Catharina Hamm, widow of Peter Maul, from Düttweiler, and his aunt Charlotta Hamm, wife of Ludwig Poller, from the St. Ingeberter Steinkohlegrube.1
