     Johannes Braun, son of Jacob Braun and Anna Catharina Gödel, was born on 15 August 1737 at Wolfstein, (Kusel), (Rheinland-Pfalz), Holy Roman Empire (Germany).1 He was baptized on 18 August 1737 at Wolfstein. His godparents were Johannes Weißmann, miller at the Schaaf Mill near Katzweiler, Johannes Göddel from Morbach, and Anna Margretha, wife of Albert Braun from Wolfstein.1
