     Johann Christophel Friess, son of Michael Friess and Christina Maue, was born on 29 June 1738.1 He was baptized on 2 July 1738 at Heimkirchen, (Rheinland-Pfalz). His godparents were Hans Stophel Zapp, the younger, from Wörsbach, Valentin Maue from Wörsbach, and his aunt Christina, wife of Velten Maue from Heimkirchen.1
