     Carl Schleppi, son of Philipp Carl Schleppi and Catharina Lang, was born on 16 November 1859 at Altstadt, Homburg, Rheinpfalz, Bayern.1 He was baptized on 21 November 1859 at Altstadt. His godparents were Jacob Hussong, farmer from Mörsbach, and Elisabetha Lang, unmarried, from Breitenbach.1
