     Jakob Korst, son of Georg Philipp Korst and Louise Charlotte Klein, was born between 12-1 a.m. On 20 October 1836 at Limbach, Homburg, Rheinkreis, Bayern, German Confederation (Germany).9,2,5,7 He was baptized on 10 November 1836 at Limbach. His godparents were Ludwig Lehmann from Limbach, Maria Hock, wife of Balthasar Hock, Georg Jakob Korst and Katharina Leibrock.2 He immigrated to USA.4

Jakob married Virginia Vestel, daughter of George Vestel and Anna C. (--?--), on 26 January 1864 at Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio.4,5,6

Jakob served in the Civil War in Company A, 15th Regiment, Ohio Infantry.8

On 14 May 1879, Jakob died of consumption at Zanesville at age 42 years, 6 months and 24 days, leaving Virginia as a widow.7
