     Maximilian Sandmeyer, son of Bartholome Sandmeyer and Susanna Katharina Herzog, was born on 30 December 1848 at Limbach, Homburg, Rheinpfalz, Bayern.1,2 He was baptized on 11 February 1849 at Limbach. His godparents were Jacob Binkle, day laborer, Friedrich Hock, unmarried, both from Limbach, Elisabetha Glaser, from Kohlhof, and Maria Jung, unmarried, from Limbach.2
