     Maria Catharina Friederika Christiana Gabriel, daughter of Georg Daniel Gabriel and Johannetta Wilhelmine Zeiter, was born at 11 a.m. On 14 February 1806 at Altstadt, (Saarland), France. Witnesses at the civil registration of her birth were Valentin Glaser, age 60, and Daniel Brabänder, age 56, both from Limbach.1,2 She was baptized on 20 February 1806 at Homburg. Her godparents were Christian Germann, unmarried son of Philipp Heinrich Germann, weaver in Altstadt, Cahtarina, unmarried daughter of Georg Eckers, farmer in Altstadt, Friedrich, unmarried son of Jakob Weber, miller in Altstadt, and Anna Maria, unmarried daughter of Friedrich Zeither, farmer in Limbach.2 She married Johann Balthasar Schleppi, son of Balthasar Schleppi and Maria Margaretha Hock, on 7 May 1829 at Niederbexbach, Homburg, Rheinkreis, Bayern, German Confederation (Germany).3,4

Johann died on 21 July 1838, at Niederbexbach at age 68, leaving Maria as a widow at the age of 23 years.5
