     Johann Balthasar Wolf, son of Johann Friedrich Wolf and Maria Elisabeth Wolf, was born on 16 September 1777 at Rieschweiler, (Pirmasens), (Rheinland-Pfalz), Holy Roman Empire (Germany).1 He was baptized on 21 September 1777 at Rieschweiler. His baptismal sponsors were Johann Balthasar Ihemann, sock weaver craftsman, son of Balthasar Ihemann, pastor, his uncle, the master shoe maker Hans Adam Wolf, son of the deceased Johann Philipp Wolf, citizen with full rights, and Susanna Maria, wife of Balthasar Kirster, citizen with full rights from Contwig.1
