     Johann Jacob Buchmann, son of Georg Jacob Buchmann and Maria Elisabeth Bayer, was born on 2 March 1773 at Rieschweiler, (Pirmasens), (Rheinland-Pfalz), Holy Roman Empire (Germany).1 He was baptized on 7 March 1773 at Rieschweiler. His baptismal sponsors were Jacob Bauer, citizen with full rights, Johann Jacob Guth, son of Johann Jacob Guth, deceased linen weaver, and Anna Elisabeth, daughter of Philipp Guth, citizen with full rights.1
