     Friedrich Jacob Buchmann, son of Heinrich Buchmann and Anna Elisabetha Buchmann, was born on 13 June 1770 at Rieschweiler, (Pirmasens), (Rheinland-Pfalz), Holy Roman Empire (Germany).1 He was baptized on 17 June 1770 at Rieschweiler. His baptismal sponsors were his uncle, Johann Jacob Wolf, tayler craftsman, son of Philipp Wolf, citizen with full rights, his uncle, Johann Friedrich Buchmann, sculptor, son of the deceased Balthasar Buchmann, citizen with full rights, and Maria Catharina, wife of Johann Balthasar Wolf, citizen and tailor in Zweibrücken.1 He was confirmed on 11 April 1784 at Rieschweiler.2
