     Ludwig Wagner, son of Georg Jakob Wagner and Maria Eva Hilpert, was born on 19 November 1825 at Kirkel, Homburg, Rheinkreis, Bayern.1 He was baptized on 20 November 1825 at Kirkel-Neuhäusel. His godparents were Ludwig Hussong, Philipp Shmeer, Katharina Lehmann, wife of Philipp Anstadt, and Maria Schmidt, wife of Peter Schwitzgäbel.1
