     Johann Philipp Oberkircher, son of Andreas Oberkircher and Margaretha Bender, was born on 14 November 1783 at Kirkel, (Saarland), Holy Roman Empire (Germany). His godparents were Johannes Schwarz from Neuhäusel, Philipp Bender from Webenheim, and Margaretha Bettinger from Kirkel.1,2 He married Catharina Wagner, daughter of Georg Wagner and Catharina Elisabetha Korst, on 25 September 1808 at Limbach, (Saarland), France. Witnesses were Georg Wagner, tailor from Kirkel, age 66, Friedrich Zuber, from Limbach, age 29, Johann Jacob Hamm, weaver from Limbach, age 32, and Georg Barthelome Brabänder, weaver from Limbach, age 32.2,3
