     Ludwig Korst, son of Johann Jakob Korst and Karoline Katharina Grub, was born on 12 January 1857 at Limbach, Homburg, Rheinpfalz, Bayern.1 According to the civil registration record, he was born on 13 January 1857.2 He was baptized on 25 January 1857 at Limbach. His godparents were Jacob Jung, smith, unmarried, Ludwig Korst, farmer, unmarried, his cousin Margaretha Daniel, unmarried, and Catharina Korst, unmarried, all from Limbach.1
