Valtin Schmidt, son of Curt Schmidt and (--?--) (--?--), was born circa 1565 at Zella, Ziegenhain, Hessen-Nassau, Holy Roman Empire (Germany).4 He married Eyla Grein, daughter of Clas Grein, circa 1590.4 Valtin worked as a farmer on Hof Nr. 9 at Zella.4
In 1594, Valtin purchased farms from his cousins at Loshausen, Ziegenhain, Hessen-Nassau, Holy Roman Empire (Germany), which had been left to them from their deceased parents.6
Eyla died before 1610, at Zella leaving Valtin as a widower at the age of about 45 years.4
In 1610, the flood waters were so high, that the Antreff and the Schwalm at Zella almost came together before Valten Schmidt's house, which was in the middle of the village.4
Second, Valtin married Gela Siemon, daughter of Hein Siemon, on 9 May 1611 at Zella.1,2,4
Valtin died3,4, and was buried on 27 January 1616 at Zella.3,4
