     Johannes Schmidt, son of Johann Adam Schmidt and Anna Elisabeth Keller, was born on 11 March 1774 at Obergrenzebach, Ziegenhain, Hessen-Nassau, Heiliges Römisches Reich. His godfather was Johannes, son of Johann George Dörrbecker.1,2 He married Catharina Dorothea Banzer, daughter of Johannes Banzer and Anna Justina Klein, on 18 September 1796 at Marburg.2 He worked as a master backer and a citizen with full rights at Marburg on 4 October 1796.2

Catharina died on 8 November 1822 at Marburg at age 46, leaving Johannes as a widower at the age of 48 years.2

Johannes died on 8 June 1833 at Marburg at age 59 years, 2 months and 28 days.2
