Maria Krauß, daughter of Conrad Krauß and Anna Katharina Gümpel, was born on 24 November 1763 at Wasenberg, Ziegenhain, Hessen-Nassau, Holy Roman Empire (Germany).1,2 She was baptized on 27 November 1763 at Wasenberg. Her godmother was her mother's youngest sister, wife of Henrich Gömbel.1 She married Heinrich Schmidt, son of Johannes Schmidt and Anna Catharina Hainmöller, on 1 February 1782 at Wiera, Ziegenhain, Hessen-Nassau, Holy Roman Empire (Germany).2
On 2 September 1788, Heinrich and Maria lost their son, Wilhelm, at age 2 years, 1 month and 29 days.2 They lost their son, Johannes, on 10 January 1798 at age 7 months and 2 days.2
On 17 October 1798, Maria died at Wiera at age 34 years, 10 months and 23 days, leaving Heinrich as a widower.2
