     Anna Catharina Mertz, daughter of Jacob Mertz and Anna Barbara Heintz, was born on 23 January 1701 at Großbockenheim, (Bad Dürkheim), Mont Tonnerre, Holy Roman Empire (Germany). Her godparents were Bartholomaus Ziegler, resident of Laumersheim, Anna Catharina, wife of Sebastian Mertz, and Dorothea, Görg Henrich Singmeyer.1
