     Johann Christoph Mertesheimer, son of Johann Georg Mertesheimer and Maria Catharina Esch, was born on 28 May 1781 at Obersülzen, (Bad Dürkheim), Mont Tonnerre, Holy Roman Empire (Germany).1 He was baptized on 31 May 1781 at Obersülzen. Her godparents were Johann Christoph Boelger, reformed teacher in Rodenbach, and his wife, Maria Catharina.1 He died on 4 August 1781 at age 2 months and 7 days.1
