     Johann Conrad Schnabel, son of Johannes Schnabel and Anna Catharina Hohmann, was born on 19 December 1723 at Schlitz, (Vogelsbergkreis), Hessen, Holy Roman Empire (Germany). His godfather was his uncle Conrad, the son of Johann Adam Hohmann.1 He married Catharina Susanna Obermann on 27 January 1750 at Schlitz.2 He worked as a saddler at Schlitz.2
