Johann Wilhelm Moritz, son of Johann Peter Moritz and Katharina Becht, was born on 18 April 1788 at Kölschhausen, (Lahn-Dill-Kreis), (Hessen), Holy Roman Empire (Germany).1 He was baptized on 22 April 1788 at Kölschhausen. His godparents were Johann Wilhelm Moritz, junior, and Anna Elisabetha, wife of Johann Wilhelm Lein.1 He was confirmed in 1803 at Kölschhausen.1 He married Anna Elisabetha Becht on 6 November 1806 at Kölschhausen.1
Elisabetha died on 28 July 1820 at Dreisbach at age 30, leaving Wilhelm as a widower at the age of 32 years.1
Second, Wilhelm married Elisabetha Lotz on 21 April 1822 at Kölschhausen.1
Wilhelm died on 6 July 1866 at Kölschhausen at age 78 years, 2 months and 18 days1, and was buried on 9 July 1866 at Kölschhausen.1
