     Johann Christoffel Grüninger, son of Nicolaus Grüninger and Catharina Wagner, was born on 30 December 1705 at Butzbach, (Wetteraukreis), Hessen, Heiliges Römisches Reich. His godfather was his uncle Johannes Krecker.1

Christoffel died on 15 June 1782 at Butzbach at age 76 years, 5 months and 16 days.1
