     Johann Wilhelm Beck, son of Johann Jacob Beck and Anna Magdalena Lawall, was born on 24 March 1757 at Obersülzen, (Bad Dürkheim), Mont Tonnerre, Holy Roman Empire (Germany).1 He was baptized on 27 March 1757 at Obersülzen. His godparents were his uncle, Johann Wilhelm Lawall, and his wife Maria Catharina.1

Wilhelm was the godfather of his cousin, Wilhelm Lawall at his baptism on 20 June 1777 at Obersülzen.2
