During the witch trial in 1633 at Büdingen, (Wetteraukreis), (Hessen), Holy Roman Empire (Germany), Mergen confessed to adultery and the murder of two children. She also admitted to bewitching many others, such as four cows and a pig. Mergen was executed by fire along with eight other people on 22 November 1633 at Büdingen, (Wetteraukreis), (Hessen), Holy Roman Empire (Germany). She left 20 Gulden to the Büdinger officials.1,2
